SITV’s Shakespeare Camp provides a creative, fun, and safe learning environment for both the experienced actor and those who are curious about performing.


Each of our 2 two-week sessions provides instruction in voice, movement, acting, production, and choreography, culminating in a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp onstage at Baily Winery in Temecula. The outstanding instructors are trained theater professionals with extensive experience in arts education.


Ages: 7 - 19


Session 1: “Twelfth Night”: June 19 – 30; show on Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m

Session 2: “The Tempest”: July 24 – August 4; show on Friday, August 4 at 6 p.m.


Location: Rehearsals will take place at the Springs Charter School Conference Center, Temecula


Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.


Camp Registration Fees:

    Before May 1st: $225

    Beginning May 1st : $250

    (Scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance.)


Registration Deadlines:

    Session 1: June 10th

    Session 2: July 15th

Introducing our Fantastic Shakespeare in the Vine’s Camp Educational Specialists!


John Edward Clark (Educational Outreach Specialist, Past President, Board of Directors) is joining us for a second year of happy camping at Shakespeare in the Vines!  has a BA in Theatre Arts, Brigham Young University and an MFA in Acting from the National Theater Conservatory at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. John has performed in over 100 plays and musicals. Beginning as a graduate assistant teaching acting classes at BYU, John has been involved with Theatre Education for many years. His experience includes teaching Acting and Theater classes for a variety of ages from elementary school through college and beyond. In his current role with SITV’s School Outreach program, he works with middle and high school aged children, introducing Shakespeare’s works through regular classroom visits and in-class workshops.

Carol Hernandez (SITV Board of Directors’ Educational Outreach Chair)

has been an activist in the theatre community for over twenty years. She has been a teacher in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District for twenty-two years, a middle school drama instructor, a high school director, an Inland Theater League Judge, and a stage mom. Currently, Carol is the MVUSD Teacher On Special Assignment for the Visual and Performing Arts at the District Office in Murrieta. Carol is also a drama teacher at Dorothy McElhinney Middle School and directs productions at James L. Day Middle School in Temecula as an afterschool program. Hernandez writes and directs a musical every year, performed by her middle school students. Over the summer, Hernandez was one of the directors for the SITV Shakespeare Camp production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Trained in Shakespeare at Smith College, Hernandez was selected to participate in the Shakespeare & Company, Teacher Education Program in Northampton, Massachusetts. Hernandez serves on the SITV Board as the Educational Outreach Coordinator, bringing opportunities for students in our valley to experience the wealth of powerful, beautiful, playful, and expressive language that Shakespeare illustrates.
